What Is the DRX-9000?

Spinal Decompression Engineered for Results

The DRX-9000 is a sophisticated computer-controlled spinal decompression system designed to treat disc-related conditions without surgery or injections. It works by applying precise, targeted traction to specific spinal segments — creating a gentle negative pressure inside the disc that promotes retraction of herniated material and draws in nutrients essential for healing.

Unlike simple traction devices, the DRX-9000 uses real-time biofeedback to maintain optimal tension throughout each session, preventing the muscle guarding response that limits the effectiveness of traditional traction. The result is a comfortable, highly controlled treatment that can achieve what passive stretching cannot.

Semlow Chiropractic is proud to offer DRX-9000 therapy to the Troy and greater Oakland County community — bringing a level of disc care typically found only at large specialty clinics to a private, patient-centered practice.

The Process

What to Expect

Every DRX-9000 treatment plan begins with a thorough evaluation. Dr. Yanez reviews your imaging, history, and symptoms before recommending decompression — and monitors your progress every step of the way.

01

Evaluation

Comprehensive consultation, postural analysis, and review of MRI or X-ray imaging to confirm candidacy.

02

Custom Protocol

Treatment parameters — angle, tension, duration — are programmed specifically for your spinal level and condition.

03

Sessions

30–45 minute sessions, typically 15–20 over 4–6 weeks. Most patients find the treatment comfortable and relaxing.

04

Monitoring & Outcome

Progress is reassessed regularly. Complementary therapies — adjustments, ART, exercise — are integrated as needed.

Candidacy

Conditions That Respond to DRX-9000

The DRX-9000 is most effective for disc-related spinal conditions — particularly those where nerve compression is involved. A consultation with Dr. Yanez will determine whether decompression is appropriate for your specific case.

Herniated Disc

A displaced disc nucleus pressing on surrounding nerves — the most common candidate for DRX-9000 therapy.

Bulging Disc

Disc material extending beyond normal boundaries, causing localized or radiating pain and stiffness.

Sciatica

Nerve compression in the lumbar spine causing shooting pain, tingling, or numbness down the leg.

Degenerative Disc Disease

Age-related disc breakdown causing chronic low back or neck pain, often with stiffness and reduced mobility.

Spinal Stenosis

Narrowing of the spinal canal that compresses nerves, causing pain, cramping, and weakness in the extremities.

Facet Syndrome

Joint-related back pain from facet degeneration or irritation, often worsened by extension and rotation.

Failed Back Surgery Syndrome

Continued or recurring pain following spinal surgery — decompression can address residual disc issues non-surgically.

Posterior Facet Syndrome

Pain originating from the posterior spinal joints, often described as aching that worsens with certain movements.

Radiculopathy

Nerve root irritation causing pain, numbness, or weakness that radiates into the arm or leg.

Is DRX-9000 Right for You?

Start with a Consultation

The best way to know if DRX-9000 decompression can help you is a conversation with Dr. Yanez. He will review your imaging, evaluate your condition, and give you an honest assessment — no pressure, no obligation.

Good Candidates

You May Benefit If…

You have imaging-confirmed disc pathology (herniation, bulge, DDD), your pain has lasted more than 4 weeks, and conservative care alone has provided limited relief. Most patients who complete the full protocol experience significant improvement.

Important Note

Not Everyone Qualifies

DRX-9000 is not appropriate for patients with fractures, severe osteoporosis, spinal fusion hardware at the treatment level, or active malignancy. Dr. Yanez will identify any contraindications during your evaluation.
